Live Oak

This property in Hope Ranch on the central coast of California has breathtaking views to both the Pacific and the local mountains. My design focused on creating different experiences and moments as one walks through the garden. I was able to build upon elements that delighted me in the older gardens of California and of Europe. The architect Buzz Yudell made a great choice to keep the house at the top of the slopes. This gave me the opportunity to terrace the entire property - an ancient way of making the land more usable.
